We Are Absolutely Certain Regarding The Uncertainty
Centuries of accumulated knowledge, recorded results, social experiments, and economic outcomes all point to one thing: something will happen soon. “That is certain, it is unequivocal, and is born out by history,” said Gene Limbert, an expert in near future studies and former tarot card reader.
Limbert has studied what dozens of experts in hundreds of fields have written about what might happen. “They all agree that we don’t all agree,” he says. “And that’s common ground we can build on.” Limbert says all his sources—liberals and conservatives, spenders and savers, extroverts and introverts—agree that we can’t be certain what will happen, but that unknown ‘something’ will, at some point, certainly take place.”
Asked if he was sure about his findings, Limbert says this level of agreement is unheard of in statistical analysis. “We are 100% confident that we are uncertain. And that confidence allows us to move forward with certainty.”
Limbert also studies events that have happened and predict that in the future not everything will happen at once. “It’s clear that some things will happen sooner than others,” he said. “Which leads us to conclude that other things will happen later.”
Will certainty in an uncertain future ever change? Limbert looked at the tea leaves in the bottom of his cup and pronounced with confidence: “It’s very likely that we will never not know for sure how very unlikely that what may or may not happen will occur or not. And you can quote me on that.”
