We’re completely sure the model in this stock photo is going to be really mad we chose this specific photo when they had a ton of better poses in really similar available ones.
Image and words go together to create a complete message. We’ve always taken the time to pick the right, complimentary image to match our stories.
We found a majestic shot of the sun setting over the African plains, silhouetting a family of elephants walking. Then we remembered that the most popular favorite color is blue, and this image is all reds and oranges.
The most common favorite color is blue, and we found a stunning shot of a blue whale breaching. But fish? Smelly, and seldom picked as a favorite pet.
An image with lots of colors then, and no animals. Hip hop art was the way to go. We found an expressive image with more colors than we can name depicting … we’re not sure what. It covered the wall of the Houston public library. We can’t condone vandalism so…keep looking.
Maybe a vector image, a repeating pattern. Blocks, paisleys, florals. Certainly less divisive, but as our chief editor pointed out, nothing to do with our story. Architecture, fruit, bold colors, neutrals, sports, abstracts, portraits, landscapes. We found hundreds of impressive, eye-catching images but we realized none of the other images we found had anything to do with the story either.
Realizing we’d been distracted; we refocused and picked this one. We hope you like it, here’s the story:
Lots of people suffer from chronic indecision.
