According to scientists, that Honey Oat smell is unfortunately impossible to replicate.
“Sometimes I don’t want to go to work,” said Subway sandwich builder Reggie Bricks. “But if I smell like the bread before I even get there – puts me in the right frame of mind.”
Subway agrees. A statement from their central office said “We’ve seen a huge increase in positive work attitude. We’ve asked Axe if they can make car fresheners that smell like deli ham and vinegar.”
This is Axe’s second foray into the niche scent arena. But their Darth Vader body wash from their Star Wars line was not a commercial success. Company spokesperson Mindy Flibb admits they learned from the mistake. “We made the Vader wash a Winter Mint fragrance but apparently fans wanted to smell like they’d lived in a full-body leather suit for years. Especially the ComicCon crowd.”
Axe plans to expand its workplace line with ‘oil’ for mechanics, ‘sardine’ for Alaskan Crab fishermen, and ‘musk’, for anyone named Elon. But their biggest request is for sweat. “People don’t want to go to the gym, but want everyone to think they have. We’re working on it,” said Flibb.
Like ‘sweat’ not every smell is easy to find. “Honey oat is elusive,” said Flibb. “So is the sweet smell of success, people ask for that all the time. Mostly MBA students.”
